I’ve been neglecting to post an update, so here goes…

The long wait seems to be coming to an end as the work begins on getting my first book ready for publication. An artist will begin work on the cover in August and the production cycle will begin. The joys of the final edits will be coming soon, and I should soon have an idea of when it will be released. In the meantime, I’ve been working on a few different projects. As I’ve said here before, the sequel and…

Update time!

Update time!

It’s been awhile, but I’m still here. Still plugging away and waiting for the editing process to begin on my first book. I recently did a reading of the prologue and first five chapters of my book for a small group of friends. The response and feedback was good, and I plan to do another soon for a larger group. Hopefully I’ll be fully comfortable with this by the time the book comes out. As I’ve mentioned before, the name…

A brief update

A brief update

It’s been a bit since I posted an update, so here goes. I’ve been juggling a few projects, but most of my effort has been going into a book I’m tentatively calling ‘Brothers’ Trust’. This tells the story of two boys who grew up in the same orphanage. It’s the first book in what I’m now seeing as a trilogy. I posted some notes about this on my Facebook page, as my dog is named after one of the two…

A small update

A small update

Writing is often really easy. The story just seems to write itself. Words fit together perfectly, and the scenes come to life in my head. It is much more difficult at other times. None of the sentences look right, the words no longer flow, and the scenes become a struggle to write. I seem to run into a period of this with every story I write. Some refer to it as the mid-book struggle. I believe I’ve recently overcame this…

Writing Update

Writing Update

I will be posting my updates here rather than on my Facebook page from now on. These will no longer be on any sort of schedule either. I’ll simply post an update when I feel it’s warranted. My work schedule has limited my writing over the past few weeks, but I continue to move forward with the prequel I’ve been working on. I’m starting chapter 9 tonight. This story continues to challenge me unlike any other project I’ve ever worked…

Can’t Change

Can’t Change

Can’t Change (by Jeff Pryor) Sitting alone again. Wishing you’d come back again. Watching the world passing by. All you wanted was a friend. I’m still waiting for my heart to mend. Wondering why I still cry. Will you give me another chance? Please take my hand for one last dance. Will you come back at all? Like Knights of chivalry and romance, my heart was pierced by your lance. You left me to take the fall. I can’t drink…

Stolen Freedom

Stolen Freedom

This is something a little more recent.   STOLEN FREEDOM by JEFF PRYOR Twisting roads and broken hope, It’s a wonder any of us can cope. Restrictive laws, it’s a hopeless cause, We’re like prey in a predator’s jaws. Twisted souls fight for control, Their scorecard is in the polls. It’s quite contagious, the war it rages, Read it in the newspaper pages. They pass the blame, but it stays the same, Thinking about it hurts my brain. Broken dreams…

A new day will dawn

A new day will dawn

This is a poem I wrote a few years back for a friend that was feeling down. A New Day Will Dawn by Jeff Pryor A new day will dawn And right all the wrongs The cycle will turn The memories fade and burn Everything must come to an end For without an end it cannot begin again Move through the pain, move past the fear Worrying about it will get you nowhere A new day will dawn You’ll find…
